Previously, Kris was Vice President, Director, Global Rights, with Wiley Inc., where she led an international team of sales, marketing, and operations professionals. From Random House to Hyperion/Disney, to Farrar, Straus & Giroux, she successfully negotiated and executed print and digital licensing agreements with a broad spectrum of global companies. Through her distinguished career, she achieved bottom line results managing editorial, branding, creative and marketing teams as well as rights. Kris heads the Rights Committee for the Book Industry Study Group.
Marta Maretich is a content creator, curator, and editor with a deep love of literature and a drive to share it with others. Born in Nigeria, raised in California, she began her career teaching English in Spain, Taiwan and Los Angeles. She holds an MFA in creative writing, and has published three novels, plus articles, short stories, poetry and nonfiction. As a freelance editor and writer, she’s turned her hand to every kind of publication from erudite poetry reviews, to underground fanzines, to business-oriented newsletters and books. Her abiding passion is editorial development—enabling other writers by giving them the support they need to make the most of their projects.
